Painting_Seven Deadly Sins
For my Seven Deadly Sins series, I used watercolor and color pencil to
create a consistent medium and texture. I chose Glen Martin Taylor’s
ceramic works as reference because his repaired and imperfect teacups
visually connect to the destructive nature of each sin. The yellow
background and blue shadows help build an unsettling, slightly decayed
atmosphere. I used light blue and white for the porcelain surface to
contrast with the dark, broken additions, emphasizing both fragility and
tension. Each piece focuses on how small imperfections can visually
represent excess, distortion, and emotional pressure.
